An ode to impractical knitwear.
Aka the “off-the-shoulder” knit. It draws us in with its aesthetic appeal and the allure of shoulders being the new boobs (or are have we moved on?). Regardless, there is always something so enticing about this style, and yet it is undoubtedly impractical. Feminine and pretty. But alas… impractical.
I’m not going to lie, I will probably continue to wear this style, as I do think it is universally flattering and because I always seem to talk about the weather, is a good compromise on “is it warm or cold” weather days.
But also… let me introduce you to your new best friend. The off-the-shoulder top WITH helpers. Groundbreaking right? Just for me? Okay… moving on…
This knit from REVOLVE by Lovers + Friends made all my off-the-shoulder meets functionality dreams come true.
The ties, as one would expect, help keep the top in place and means you can frolic and lift you arms until your heart is content. And being a light-weight knit, its the perfect transition piece while we are still getting these cooler days here in Australia (or at least the parts that experience some version of winter).
Paired back with a nice light wash denim like these, or obviously as the weather gets warmer a pair of denim shorts, it’s an effortless outfit to throw on.
