Autumn is pretty close to being my favourite time of year. Everything seems to slow down a bit. The beaches are quieter. The water is still warm. And there is no more satisfying feeling than the prickly feeling of warm sun kissing your slightly chilled skin.
After a rainy couple of weeks here in Byron Bay, there felt like no better time to bask in the return of the sunshine and explore some of my favourite little beach nooks in Byron Bay to create this editorial in collaboration with Sommer Swim.
And what better way to break my 20-something year ban on pink, then with this killer kini. This is the newest colour-way Sommer Swim have added to their already beautiful swimwear collection, and it goes without saying that I’m pretty much obsessed.
For many years I’ve shied away from colour. Don’t get me wrong, for the most part I still strive towards creating a timeless wardrobe, but I’ve realised that doesn’t have to come at the exclusion of all colour. And especially not when it comes to swimwear.
Swimwear, for me, has always been my arena to be a little more playful than I would be in my day-to-day wardrobe. I don’t really rule out any possibilities when it comes to swim, because for me it’s all about finding something that fits well, is comfortable to wear and makes me feel good.
Also, in other exciting news, Sommer Swim have just released their new slip dress. And who doesn’t love a silky slip dress number? After t-shirts and jeans, slip dresses are my most owned item of clothing. They are just so damn versatile and easy to wear.
Something you can dress up or down and take straight from the beach to the bar… or, more likely in my case, a vegan restaurant or brunch date….
